Bariloche Backcountry Week 2024

The snow is crippling under each step like crinkle wrap… it is 6 am and the winds are picking up. I look back at my girls, they’re moving forward with their heads down, to protect themselves from the gusts. They have been going for 2 days and waking up this early for a sunrise mission, isn’t easy. Especially when your sleeping bag is very cozy and you finally start to get some good sleep. The hut is warm and shielded from the wind. There’s a fire crackling and coffee brewing. The last thing you want to do is to get up and leave all that comfort to go watch the sunrise on top of the mountain.

In August 2024 we hosted our first ever LUX Week in Bariloche. The place is incredibly special to me, it is the hometown of my mom and a place where I grew into the person I am today. LUX was born out of the idea, that I first and foremost wanted to share this incredible experience that I have every winter here, with a group of girls who aren’t familiar with Argentina.

Patagonia is one of the last untouched places in the world, it is difficult to travel down here, but it’s worth every struggle.

8 women, from across the world came from completely different backgrounds and got united by one thing: their love for the mountains.
